Are you completely new to baseball and softball? There are lots of resources on the internet to help you learn! Super basic rules , a little more detailed (baseball specific) (softball specific), and full, official Little League rules are available through your coach, the Board, or you can purchase a copy from Little League International.
Little League! Many people have fond memories of their little league experiences; some people have not-so-fond memories; and some never participated. Yet, we're all here now to support our kids' turn to have fun, learn to be a good teammate, experience success and failure in a safe, supportive space, and play a game where everyone has a chance to participate, and anyone could be the hero of the game.

History

Little League® Baseball and Softball, now an international organization, was founded, first just with baseball, in 1939, and is the world's first community-based, volunteer-operated youth sports program. Little League Softball was founded in 1974. Nearly 2.4 million youth ages 4 to 16 in more than 80 countries and territorial possessions participate in the divisions of Little League Baseball and Softball.

Shoreline Little League was first chartered in 2016, combining two smaller leagues, North King County Little League and Richmond Little League. We serve kids "league ages" 5 - 16 who live or go to school in Shoreline and Lake Forest Park. The whole organization is run by volunteers: From the person updating this website to the coaches, and the umpires to the person that books the fields. We currently have more than 30 Board Members committed to manage the league for the whole year (just like professional sports, the off-season is full of planning!).

How Shoreline Little League Works

SLL's season runs roughly March - June. Each division has different season lengths, with the older divisions starting earlier and finishing later than the younger divisions.

As a non-profit, completely volunteer organization, Shoreline Little League asks for all hands on deck. There is a fundraiser each player is asked to participate in, there are 2 snack shacks that need to be open and run during games, the Jamboree requires TONS of support, we need people to volunteer to umpire games! And the more people helping, the better the experience will be for the kids.

In addition to fundraisers, we rely on sponsors to help offset costs. If you know a business that would like to get involved, let us know!
